  • Hipcooks Gift Certificates  A cute card for Hipcooks classes is available for purchase on the website.  A lovely, fun, and different sort of present.  The gift of food that keeps on giving!  Check it at, click on "classes" and then "gift certificates" from the pull-down menu.
  • Recipe of the month.  You may recognize this one - a hit!  People used it with their Thanksgiving meals, over ice cream, and straight with a spoon.
Cranberry sauce with fresh ginger and orange
3/4 lb fresh cranberries - available in packets at all supermarkets these days
1 cup orange juice
3/4 cup  brown sugar
2 teaspoons (about 1 inch) grated fresh ginger - use your microplane!

2 teaspoons orange zest
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cranberries will make a delightful popping sound as they open up and mixture will thicken.
  • All the new classes have openings for teaching assistants, so of you are on that email list, keep your eyes open for an email from me!  If you are not on the list and want to be, let me know.  Basically, if you have taken a couple of classes here already and are interested in the assistantship program, send me an email for details with "teaching assistant" in the subject line.

Eat Well, Be well.  Happy Thanksgiving,
